This really requires no introduction. Special condemnation goes to those who try to be funny (and fail) and to those who stifle the awesomeness of others. And some people are reprehensible for just, well, being. Here are our top 8 most annoying TV characters from recent shows.
8. Kenneth Parcell, 30 Rock
He is a small-town hick that should be far more amusing when juxtaposed against the backdrop of NYC. He tries incredibly hard not to inconvenience those around him but, in doing so, becomes an incredible inconvenience. He also has very large teeth.
Redeeming qualities: can manage livestock.
7. Karen van der Beek, Californication
She is the routine foil to the exploits of the massively flawed yet undeniably heroic everyman. To continually expect change from the unalterable is, quite frankly, stupid. Why didn’t you stay in New York and allow Hank to defile LA unencumbered?
Redeeming qualities: kind of looks like him.
6. Becca Moody, Californication
See above.
Redeeming qualities: owns a PRS guitar.
5. Richie Aprile Sr., The Sopranos
In a world bereft of morality, he was a memorable fear-mongering sociopath. That he could go from zero to coffee pot smashing in the blink of an eye was particularly disturbing. That he often spit when he talked really didn’t help.
Redeeming quality: [trying really hard to think of one. Don't hit me!]

I think you hit the mark with Ted. He sucks dicks. Not later in life, but now. Karen and Becca should have left the show completely after season 4…because they are making the same story lines in Californication. Richie Abriel was a mother fucker and glad he died the way he did. Winger is ok.
The rest are great in the role they play. Winger is a dick, but always comes around. Kenneth can be funny, and his static character keeps him endearing. Charlie may yell, but that show is so funny that it doesn’t matter.
And you are the most right about Jim Halpert. He is the saddest character in television. Maybe the show should have followed the lead of the BBC Office and go off the air in 2 seasons. Instead of this ridiculously long and drawn out bullshit they have been trying to pull off since Jim and Pam got together.
Thanks for the hilarious post.
Yeah, my FB page is filled with hateful Ted comments today. Glad everyone else agrees with me.
I stopped watching It’s Always Sunny after Season 2 as I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was watching mediocre high school theatre. And the yelling always got to me (none more than Charlie).
In retrospect, I was maybe a little harsh on Kenneth. I can think of a few others that could easily take his place (Ricky Gervais in Life’s Too Short comes to mind).
Given this list I assume you watch 2 Broke Girls and Mike and Molly. just the advertising for those shows makes me ill tempered.
How dare you, sir?
and that one with the tall chick originally from That 70s Show. I am devoured my anger right now.
